MAFI container chassis / bombcarts are a specialized form of trailer chassis for handling containers in seaports. Containers are hoisted from the ship onto the conforming ISO container frame of the chassis and coupled to a terminal tractor for distribution or reloading within the port terminal. The units are available as a 20 ft container chassis and in subsequent standard sizes up to 45 ft. Payloads can be up to 70 tons. Chassis are available in different versions and can be delivered as bump carts, with retractable container twistlocks or with locating pins. A 40 ft gooseneck chassis configuration can also be specified. With the addition of various options such as air brakes, rear lights, steps, etc., a combo chassis suitable for road use and in the terminal is also possible. While an aluminum chassis trailer may be offered by other container trailer manufacturers, Mafi’s advanced all-steel construction is much more robust and durable with only a minimum penalty in overall chassis weight.

Because they are so simple and easy to handle, MAFI roll trailers are becoming increasingly popular as a fast and economical means of transporting cargo not only in Maritime ports but also in industrial applications.
